Warrior race: Investec Asset Management for the SA Guide Dogs Association

Personal message

You don't often see a bunch of corporate employees jump in the mud... but when you do it's for a good cause.

"The WARRIOR Race is South Africa’s largest obstacle course race series. It’s a sport that incorporates trail running along with various physical challenges in the form of obstacles. The WARRIOR Race offers athletes from different sporting prowesses the opportunity to compete with one another, to live out their sense of adventure and to break barriers never thought possible. The series is all about promoting an active, healthy lifestyle, with an emphasis on the importance of being brave and overcoming challenges that puts your body, mind and spirit to the ultimate test."

The point is, however, not just our own challenges, but the challenges of those individuals who are blind, autistic or paralysed. The SA Guide Dog Association trains dogs in order to help these individuals live safer and more independently - and these dogs are companions for life.

We need your help to support this charity - for every cent raised, we will try even harder to come out more dirty, but victorious at the end of the race.

SA Guide Dogs Association for the Blind Logo

Since 1953, South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) has strived to expand its offerings to the differently-abled community of Southern Africa, extending beyond Guide Dogs to include Service Dogs for people who are physically impaired, Autism Support Dogs for children with autism, and the College of Orientation & Mobility, whose Orientation & Mobility (O&M) practitioners teach people who are visually impaired to continue their lives in a safe and efficient manner and how to use a long cane as a mobility aid.
