Woodrock Animal Rescue Clinic Dream - Phase2 #woodrockclinicdream

Personal message

Woodrock Animal Rescue NPO dreams of a clinic on our premises, where we can medically treat and sterilize rescue animals that come into our care. In addition the clinic will assist us with our flagship township outreach programme, where we educate and assist the surrounding communities to care for and sterilize their pets.

If you want to be part of caring for these animals, please donate to this dream!

ITS EASY! To DONATE towards our Phase 2 - Clinic Equipment Fit Out and leave a message for us,  just click on the DONATE button and choose either credit card, PayPal or EFT. The yellow DONATE button on the right hand side.

Woodrock provides assistance to unfortunate, homeless, abused, neglected, stray, injured, ill, geriatric and unwanted animals (predominantly canines) that would otherwise have miserable lives and premature deaths.

Currently Woodrock staff have to drive rescue animals in need of medical attention or sterilization to vets in Johannesburg (hour and a half round trip). Often this is stressful for the animals and also wastes valuable time in emergency cases. It also costs Woodrock in petrol, vehicle wear and tear and time! Currently Woodrock spend around R80 000 a month on sterilizations and travel to vets in Johannesburg for emergency care.

A clinic at Woodrock will change the lives of many rescue animals going forward.

Woodrock envisages three phases in making the clinic a reality.

Phase 1: Clinic Construction. (Target reached in March 2017! THANK YOU!)

Phase 2: Clinic Equipment Fit Out (THIS PAGE)

CHRISTMAS WISHES: For Christmas 2017, Woodrock Animal Rescue would love to raise funds towards Phase 2 of our Woodrock Clinic Dream. Phase 2 is the Clinic Equipment Fit Out and when we stock the clinic with the necessary medical equipment, tools, cages etc. This will initially focus on sterilisations and emergency care only. Below are a few of the items that Woodrock would like to purchase for Christmas 2017:

• Autoclave Sterilizer 21L - Electric (+- R4200). This is used to sterilize surgical equipment, laboratory instruments, pharmaceutical items, and other materials.
• Easy-Lift Table 230 Volt (+- R27700): This is used to perform operational procedures and is adjustable for positioning the patient for sterilizations.
• Exam & Operation Wall Mounted Lamp (+- R18900). This is required to provide light when performing sterilization surgical procedures.
• Spay Cradle (+- R1200) This is used to firmly position the animal in a fixed position to enable the veterinarian to perform a sterilization.

Our target is to raise R52 000 for Christmas 2017 to purchase the above items.

Phase 3: Clinic Operations

Future Vision: Our future vision is for the clinic to become self-sustaining and also service the neighbouring disadvantaged communities.

"Howdy - Woodrock changed our lives. We were all abandoned and in need of medical care. Woodrock took us to a vet. We had to travel for two hours in traffic to get to the vet and every bump we got more scared and our injuries hurt more! We are better now and all happily adopted thanks to the kind people at Woodrock Animal Rescue. We want to thank Woodrock and also help other doggies, cats, fish and tortoises like us! We noticed they need a clinic on their premises. So our prayer and wish for Woodrock is that some day in the near future they can raise enough awareness and afford their very own veterinary clinic. Good luck Woodrock!!!  Woof and wags Whiskers, Ralph, Patches, Terence and Nemo!

Please donate to help make Woodrock’s dream come true - every little bit helps.

Woodrock Animal Rescue are funded through community support. Our important work on behalf of animals is reliant on the generosity of our donors.

Thanks for helping our dream come true!
