Mike Henning will be cycling 1600km on a mountain bike, unaccompanied and unsupported to create awareness of the plight of children in South Africa and also to raise funds for Matla A Bana – A voice against child abuse. He is a member of the Xtreme for Kids Cycle Tour 2019 and 2020 team and a survival instructor (recently retired for the South African Police Services). Departing on 19 February 2022 from Johannesburg and hopefully arriving in Cape Town 18 days later. You can support him by making a donation to Matla A Bana. Matla A Bana is an award winning NPO founded by ex-hostage, Monique Strydom in 2002. The NPO works closely with the Child Protection Units of the police and sexual offences courts on a national level.

Matla A Bana - A voice against child abuse
We help 30 000 plus children who report rape and sexual crimes against them at the the police. Our aim is to minimise the secondary abuse the children suffer when the report these crimes. We also reach out to schools and communities to educate children. We work in all the provinces in South Africa.
