My name is Yolanda Pearson, and I am 30 years old. I am married to Henry Pearson, who is 32 years old. We live in Pretoria, Gauteng.
Understanding that in this global crisis we are experiencing, things are tough out there. Me and my husband work at the same place, and as a result of the school's closing we have lost our jobs.
Both of us are sport paramedics, working at different schools and other events. But with the announcement of school's closing, we lost all forms of income..
We were supposed to be working at numerous sporting tours over the school holidays, subsequently all was canceled leaving us completely without any income. My main objective is to get HELP PAYING FOR OUR RENT for as long as possible. We are both currently looking for new jobs. We are 100% sure that with the current lockdown and levels that there will be no sport or events requiring medical standby. Therefore we are looking for new jobs, although it is a tough time and finding work now will be difficult.
I am not to asking for money for food, but rather only to help pay rent. It won't help us to have food but no place to stay.
I was fortunate enough to be able to pay in full my rent and utilities for this month (March 2020). But if I am not able to pay next month we will be homeless.
At the moment me and my husband are under a lot of stress, knowing that at least we don't have to worry about how we will be paying rent without an income will lighten the stress load enormously. Also ensuring that we don't end up homeless.
Stress is not something that we need at this point in time, my husband had cancer 9 years ago and knowing that people with underlining conditions are more susceptible to Corona makes us already stress about that. We have unfortunately not been ons a medical aid for a few years now, resulting in him not being able to go for checkups. Worry and stress is a big part of our lives. Not having to stress about rent is an enormous relief to the both of us.
Our rent is R4300 per month and then an additional +-R700 for utilities.
Any funding that we receive will directly be allocated to paying rent and utilities.
