Abraham Kriel Bambanani
Abraham Kriel Bambanani is a registered NPO providing care and skills development for traumatised children and youth in need, in the greater Johannesburg area. We provide shelter, physical care, rehabilitation and skills development for beneficiaries that had been subjected to trauma, abuse, molestation, poverty, neglect and unemployment. This is done via residential care, community services and educational programmes.
Currently AKC runs 21 children’s homes (2 campuses and satellite homes) and carries out 4 HIV/AIDS community care programs that provide food, pastoral care, remedial care, social services and skills development services. AKC also provides 3 educational programmes including the Emdeni Skills Development Centre, Impact School and Johanna Malan Early Childhood Development Centre.
It has been a long held belief of AKC that the children in its care need more than shelter and food, they need love, care, guidance and rehabilitation to lead sustainable lives that will empower them and allow them to be positive contributors to our society; thereby breaking the cycle of poverty, violence, abuse and unemployment which will result in a healthier society.
