Shannon Needs Your Help Campaign

Hi, my name is Alex and I'd like to introduce you to my wonderful niece Shannon DeWet. She is 16 years old and is in high school in Three Rivers, Vereeniging where is is a prefect, model student and top athlete. Shannon is a bright, funny, kind, polite and caring teenager. She lives with her older brother Jarrod and parents Janet and Cobus.

Our family has recently heard the devastating news that Shannon has a rare type of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. It is a cancer that effects children and adolescents in the bones and surrounding tissue. It is a very aggressive type of cancer and Shannon needs urgent procedures to start chemotherapy treatment immediately. The treatment has only just become available in South Africa. The next steps are for Shannon to go into surgery as soon as possible so a Chemo Port can be fitted, so treatment can start in a timely manner.
