Benji Newman SA U16 Squash to Malaysia Campaign

Benjamin Newman, Benji, is ranked no.3 in South Africa in the u16 age group for South African Schools Squash. This is a magnificent achievement as he is still only u15.

He has been selected to represent SA Schools Squash on a tour to Malaysia and Singapore in December this year.

Benji has been the age group champion at Eastern Province squash from his u13 year. He was selected for 1st team squash at Grey High in grade 8 and is currently the no.2 at Grey High, while still only being in grade 9.

During the December squash tour in Asia, Benji will play in two tournaments, one in Malaysia and another in Singapore. This is a unique opportunity to play in international tournaments against world class junior players. The tour will cost R80 000 and players are not subsidized by SA Schools Squash. Benji’s objective for his squash this year was to make the Top 6 in SA so he could be chosen for the tour. He not only achieved this, but did so by being ranked no.3.
