A Stage Against Human Trafficking Campaign
Noxolo Bhengu’s transformative play, Pink Tax, shines a piercing spotlight on the haunting realities of human trafficking. This theatrical masterpiece, originally staged in Shanghai in China, is now coming to South Africa at the Market Theatre in October 2023. It’s not just a play; it’s a catalyst for change.
LWuD Theater, spearheaded by Noxolo, is on a mission to make Pink Tax a force for positive change. Your donation will play a pivotal role in this journey. Funds raised will be meticulously channeled into extensive preparations for the play, ensuring it reaches its full potential in delivering a powerful and emotionally resonant performance. Pink Tax has been invited to perform at the Lagos Fringe Festival in November 2023, and at the Tata Theatre Live and Thespo run by QTP in Mumbai, India.
Moreover, LWuD Theater has joined forces with “Awareness for Child Trafficking Africa” (ACT Africa) https://www.actafrica.org.za/ to conduct theatre in education workshops at various schools leading up to the play’s showcase. These collaborative workshops aim to educate and engage the community, sparking open discussions about human trafficking and gender-based violence. More recently, LWuD in partnership with ACT Africa held a workshop at Hills Primary School.
Your support goes beyond the stage. It also directly contributes to ACT Africa’s upcoming projects, enabling them to continue their invaluable work in raising awareness, providing assistance to victims, alleviating poverty and disaster, and empowering youth.
By donating, you become a part of this holistic approach to making a meaningful impact. Noxolo and LWuD Theater are not only using their artistry to tackle pressing societal issues but also creating a platform for change through education, awareness, and support.
Join this mission to create a better world. Your generous contribution will help Pink Tax and ACT Africa drive meaningful change in society. Together, we can make a profound difference. Every cent towards this cause is appreciated. Donate here.
