Boyes Helping Hands
A community based Organization assisting people who have been disadvantaged by life's circumstances. Standing up against domestic violence and abuse.
The founder of BHH has herself experienced the hardships of life, having been married, divorced, losing her home, being retrenched, having experienced rape, physical and mental abuse, having come out of all this a stronger person, and with a passion for assisting those in need.
Boyes Helping Hands was established in 2009 as a Non-Profit Company. We started simply by helping whoever came across our path with food, shelter, counselling etc. In 2010 we registered as a Non-Profit Organisation (106-205). A greater need was identified within various communities for assistance on several levels. We started off as a small feeding scheme assisting homeless people by providing meals, blankets, clothing and more.
We run a charity shop from our garage at home, and with the funds generated from the sale of the goods we purchase food for our various projects. Our longterm objective is to establish a Centre for abused women and children to be housed, counselled and begin a new life, with help of skills classes, motivation and care.
We all need a chance in life, somebody to give us a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand, a sympathetic ear. Life is too short to NOT help.
