Yankho Foundation Campaign
My gardener, Heston Hadji, who I've known for 10 years one day told me what he and his wife were up to in Malawi...
Yankho Foundation is an orphanage run from his home in Malawi.
In 2017 Heston Hadji and his wife, Charity, parents to Francis (10) and Grace (6), chose to take in two parentless children and Yankho Orphange begun.
Their charity (undergoing registration) is now home to 34 children below the age of 6 and 17 children who attend school. These children have all lost their parents to HIV.
The previous campaign helped Heston return to Charity in Malawi with a sewing machine and fabric. Take a look at the new clothes they've made for the children!
Only 7 of the 17 school-going children have uniforms. Heston and Charity are sure that all the children will have uniforms in the next 3 months. As soon as harvest on the onion crops has begun.
This campaign is to raise the money for the onion crop. Only R3 000 to get started. Anything extra will go on food. If anyone has fabric and cotton to donate please contact me, we can send it up to Malawi in a taxi.
