Community Cohesion

We started the NGO to address the gap between Victim Support and Victim Empowerment, in other words to move from a space of crisis containment into a space where the victims are informed of their Rights, options, responsibilites and all the assistance available to them so that they can start to claim their lives as empowered individuals.

Our Head Office is in Hout Bay. Our Victim Empowerment programme offers services in Hout Bay, Ocean View, Masiphumele, Fish Hoek, Simonstown and Red Hill. Our One School at a Time Programme operates in Woodstock and Tokai.

The catchment area for victims of rape at Victoria Hospital: Forensic Services stretches from Cape Point to Atlantis.

We were acknowledged by National Government as the top Victim Empowerment NGO delivering direct services to victims of Violence and Crime in the Western Cape in 2019; something we are very proud of, as we are driven by a real desire not only to assist our clients and their families, but to effect  real social change in the communities we all live in as well.

Our model is a combination of therapeutic intervention and practical, Rights Based assistance.  Our services are rendered by specialist Therapeutic Social Workers, Social Auxilliary Workers and Psychological Counsellors; all registered with their respective oversight Council's.

We are guided by the International convention of the UN Victims Charter as well as our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

On an average day we see primary victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, Elder Abuse, intimidation, assault and house robberies.  We also see the secondary victims of these crimes, as they are as impacted as the direct victims are.  In the cases of murder, we provide a vital role for the families as liaisons with the SAPS, the Invesitgating Officers, the courts and Correctional services.

We believe that donating to our organisation in general or to one of our focussed campaigns transcends charitable giving; it is investing in the future of our country.

We are a country birthed from violence, and we all experience the impact of this daily.  Our services to our clients afford them the opportunity to take practical steps to leave life threatening situations, regain their sense of self worth and dignity, be empowered to re-enter the schooling system or seek further education, develop better coping mechanisms and to really believe that there is assistance for them to live their lives more free from fear and heal so that they can move forward.

Sometimes, all our clients need is to know that there are people who care. Who will take the time to listen to them, their needs and see how they can be assisted.

Nautilus Crew is supporting this worthy cause. Rape is an epidemic in SA, the victims need as much support as possible, food is a basic that needs to be provided so at least they can take the medis.
