Hong Kong 2024 Campaign

I am Danel Parkinson. Born and raised in a small coastal town called Kenton-on-Sea in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. 

From the young age of 13 I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in teaching. I have worked extremely hard to make my dream a reality. As my family did not have sufficient funds to send me to university, I made sure to work extremely hard in high school in order to apply for bursaries. My hard work paid off and I was offered 4 different bursaries. 

I am now 23 years old and have completed my Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase Teaching.  

My next dream is to be able to travel abroad and experience teaching in different countries. I was absolutely blessed to have been offered a position at a school in Hong Kong starting on the 20th of February 2024. My dream is finally starting to become a reality. 

Unfortunately, the company doesn't cover all the costs for moving abroad. And as some might know, it's definitely not cheap!

I have created this profile in order to gather some funds for the essentials such as the flight tickets, first month accommodation costs (which is very expensive when converting ZAR to HKD), and to survive the first month until I receive my first pay check.

Every donation, big or small, would make such a huge difference!  

I am an extremely faithful person who knows that what is meant to be, God will make it happen.
