🌞 Light Up Lives at Die Oord PV3 🌞
Who We Are: Die Oord PV3 is not just a facility; it's a home filled with love, care, and purpose. Our private institution provides a safe haven for 180 intellectually impaired individuals. Our residents range from those born with Down syndrome to those affected by life-altering accidents.
Our Living Arrangement: Residents are grouped into homes of ten, each lovingly supervised by a dedicated housemother. Every resident can engage in meaningful activities, from contract work like packaging and salvaging materials to participating in sports adapted to their abilities.
Our Mission: We aim to provide more than just shelter; we offer full-time residential care, complete with general healthcare by fully qualified nurses. Our goal is to help each resident live a life that is as fulfilling and normal as possible. Why We Need Your Help: Being a private facility, we've never received government funding and rely solely on the generosity of individuals and fundraising events. We have solar panels but need more essential batteries to store the energy they generate.
The Urgency for Electricity: Vision-impaired residents rely on well-lit spaces. Many residents are emotionally similar to children and find comfort in the light. Our security measures, such as electric fences and lights, are vital for the safety of our community.
Our Financial Goal: We need to raise R4.2 million rand for the batteries that will power our facility. We're starting our campaign with an initial goal of R200k. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to ensuring a brighter and safer home for our residents.
Open Your Hearts and Wallets: Your donation isn't just monetary support; it's a beacon of hope and a promise of a better life for our residents.
