Nicole Karate 7th WGKF Championships Campaign
My name is Nicole Ayres, I am a 13-year-old girl, currently in Grade 7, at Fanie Theron Primary School.
I am a student at the International Martial Arts
Academy (IMAA) in Brackenfell. Karate is my passion and I love the sport. I
started with karate at the age of 5 and is still going strong.
In 2022 I had my first opportunity to represent my country at the World Championship that was held in Italy, bringing home 2 Bronze medals. This year, after a successful Nationals and trial selections, I once again secured my spot. I have been selected to represent South Africa at the 7th World Goju Ryu Karate Federation Championships in Austria during September 2024.
I will be competing in the Female Cadet 14-15 Kata, Kumite and Unison. My dream goal for this World Championships is to bring back home GOLD medals.
Unfortunately, Karate is a self-funded sport and we do not receive any Government or SASCOC assistance. We are responsible to cover 100% of the full amount of the trip. The team is required to travel to Austria on 2 September 2024 till 14 September. My goal is to raise enough funds to make this trip possible and making my dream a reality. I am working extremely hard and for the next year we will be practicing tedious hours to prepare for this event.
I am reaching out to everyone who can please help me make my dream come true. Any sponsorships/Donations that can be put towards my trip will be much appreciated.
I am still a minor therefore I am required to travel with a parent.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
