Help Hunter to walk again Campaign
Hunter is an active, energetic 13-year-old boy from Jeffreys Bay Primary School who loves sports, playing rugby and doing athletics. He represented the Eastern Province in athletics, four times in a row, at SA’s. He also made the EPA talent identification team which represented the Eastern Province in rugby in 2022, but missed out on Craven week (2023) due to current injury.
On 25 March 2023 Hunter suffered a shoulder injury during a rugby match and hurt his Brachial Plexus (nerves). The injury resulted in the loss of the use of his left arm (after receiving a injection at a Pain Clinic) and later the use both legs due to trauma. Hunter is now wheelchair bound.
Hunter is an ideal candidate to recover both the use of his left arm and both legs if he receives the correct treatment.
Currently Hunter is undergoing therapy at a rehabilitation hospital in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) (Nurture Aurora hospital). Hunter receives therapy from a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, a psychologist and EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) daily. He is also receiving hydrotherapy and is seeing a neurologist on a regular basis.
Medical bills have been and are still mounting at a rapid pace. We are raising funds to enable Hunter to go on with his therapy. All funds raised will go towards the therapy and treatments Hunter receives and any other unforeseen expenses that goes along with it.
Please help Hunter to walk again.
