U14 Girls Soccer Tournament Campaign

Tramway U/14 girls' soccer team from Southfield in Cape Town has carved their name into the archives of Cape Town Tygerberg Local Football Association (CTTLFA) record with an exceptional season this year that saw them make history not once, but twice. 

Their unbeaten league record of 15 games with a total of 92 goals scored and 7 goals conceded, made them strong contenders for the knockout finals, which led them to be crowned champions after beating their opponents 7-0.

This group of young girls has displayed remarkable growth not only in skills but also through their discipline, dedication, and commitment throughout the season which has contributed to their successful season. Tramway FC believes in developing young people and giving them opportunities to grow which provided a call-up for 3 girls from the u10 team to be part of the U/14 squad for 2023.

One of the girls (age 10) is my daughter, Hannah. Seeing her development from being a shy, introvert individual to a confident young lady is something I am really proud of. Soccer is my life and seeing all 3 of my children playing for a club (Rachael, 9 years, Shiloh 14) really makes me a proud father and their coach. 

Opportunities like these dont come often for young children and I would love my daughter and her team mates to experience a higher level of football by competing in this competition. What will this competition mean to these girls? I personally feel that this experience will build confidence and empower these girls to believe that they too can become professional footballers like the Messi's, Ronaldo's etc and that they have the potential to excel in a male dominated sport.

The funds of R40 000 will cover the flights, insurance, accommodation, meals, transport and participation in the tournament from the 14-17 July 2024 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
