Hiram Koopman Solo Album Campaign
More about Hiram KoopmanVirtuoso saxophone player Hiram Koopman needs no introduction. A veteran on the South African music scene, Hiram has performed all over the world.
Being surrounded by musicians in his family all his life, Hiram started playing saxophone at the tender age of 14. Over the years, Hiram has poured his love and passion into his career: from live performances, recording albums, touring with local and international acts, and teaching music to children, his story is defined by love.
Over the past 17 years, Hiram has performed with the likes of Loki Rothman, Elvis Blue, Jack Parow, Tasché, Heuwels Fantasties, Francois Van Coke, Appel and Demi Lee Moore. Hiram has even had the honour of sharing the stage with Afrikaans music legend Laurika Rauch.
Now, after all these years, it’s time for Hiram to step forward and launch his solo career by recording his first album of all-original material. The album promises to be something special – a mix of both instrumental and vocal tracks, featuring many of his long time collaborators. Recorded and produced by Loki Rothman at Rothman Records, this will be a world class recording.
With all the challenges in the music industry over the last 20 years, revenue streams have shrunk dramatically and costs to create new original music have only escalated, making it hard for many artists to stay afloat. Please help Hiram realise his dream of creating this solo record, and embark on a new phase in his career. Let’s make magic!
We have set a target of R 250 000 to record and release this album. The funds raised will go directly towards all the elements required to write, record, produce, mix, master, release, and promote an album. The target also includes the creation of 3 music videos by director Heinrich Laubscher.
“Hiram Koopman has the rare ability to let the listener see images” – Tasché
