HOLAH is a safe home for abandoned, abused, neglected or orphaned babies. HOLAH is a project that is run under the umbrella organisation Likhon iThemba. We currently are able to care for 6 babies at a time, but due to the crisis of not enough safe homes in DUrban for babies, we are hoping to expand that too. We have seen over 60 babies come through our doors and either be reunited with their family, or be adopted into forever families. We are one of the only baby homes to take in special needs kids. Our question in every situation is - 'what is best for the child?' We fight for the rights of children, we fight for every child to have a family and we fight for what is best for each child that comes through our doors.
We have a Charity Shop, where we take in all second hand items, and resell them to bring in funds to run the charity.
We also have a project known as BOP (Bowl of Plenty) where we visit the rural parts of KZN, creating relationships with some of the families and ensuring they have food supplies to get them through the month.
