Lesego USA Academic Achievers Tour Campaign

Help us acknowledge and reward Lesego Rammutla’s hard work and achievements in turning his USA dream into reality by raising R489 460.00 and allowing him to meet his like-minded students from all over South Africa on an academic tour.

My name is Itumeleng, a single parent to two amazing, well groomed smart children. Lesego, eldest is a Grade 10 selfless born leader (class representative in 2022 and a 2023/4 Youth shepherd), sport fanatic and an outstanding academic achiever. Amongst many of his sport accumulates, he achieved:

1.       Karate - Gold medalist (Position 1) for both kata and kumite to represent Gauteng Province in the nationals. Unfortunately, the dream to form part of the national team fell short due to financial constraints. Hockey - Part of the Under 21, the school’s first team playing. Softball - Silver medalists' (Position 2) as part of the Under 16 school team in Gauteng North softball league.

2018 in Grade 5, he gave me a piece of paper written the name of a State University saying “Mommy, when I finish matric, I want to go study in USA”. I took it light and now, while in Grade 10, he was identified as one of the top academic achievers at his school and has been granted an opportunity to meet with like minds from across South Africa in rewarding his academic excellence and developing his skills and fulfilling his potential through international exposure through an invitation to take part in the 9th Annual Academic Achievers Self-funded Tour to the East Coast of America (USA).

Whilst on these specialized tours, students attend private lectures and/or visits at leading universities namely: MIT, Harvard, Yale University, Columbia, and Princeton! Lectures cover an array of globally significant topics, with sessions tailored to the requirements of the group and chosen from the following topics: Political science, international relations, Anthropology, Global business challenges, Economics and E-commerce. The tour is mixed in with visits to the world-renowned sites and museums.

The tour will take place over 11 days (East Cost of America (USA) plus 3 more days as an add-on package to Orlando (Florida), a total of 14 days in total and will be conducted over the October holidays in 2024.
