Johannesburg Bach Choir
The Johannesburg Bach Choir has been delighting audiences in and around Johannesburg since its establishment in 1964. Under the leadership of Tony Fell, a graduate of the famous King’s College, Cambridge, the choir gave its first performance at St Catherine’s Anglican Church, Bramley, on 1 September 1964.
Today, the Choir is conducted by Tim Roberts, and has recently expanded with many new members.
The Choir’s objectives, as outlined in its constitution, are:
- To rehearse and perform choral music
- To promote the interests of music by offering singers and instrumentalists the opportunity to perform before live audiences
- To provide opportunities for the enjoyment of music of quality by performers and audiences.
