Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies Charity Campaign

I am walking the Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies Charity Walk in March 2024, in order to raise funds for a very  special organisation, the Overstrand Hospice. I will be one of the 100 ladies who will be walking in the 4-day, 100km walk, from Cape Agulhas Lighthouse, to Danger Point Lighthouse. I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me for this walk. Any amount, no matter how small, will go a long way and would be so appreciated. 

Since January 2007, Overstrand Hospice, a registered NPO, has been providing specialist palliative care (end phase care) to patients and their families diagnosed with a life-threatening illness in the Overstrand sub-district, to enable them to live this phase of their life in dignity, free from pain and other distressing symptoms (including emotional, social, and spiritual), and preferably in their own homes, and free of charge. Overstrand Hospice provides care to ALL who need our services, irrespective of race, culture, or faith. Bereavement support is also offered to families after the death of the patient for thirteen months when required.  

What is Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse? Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse Ladies is an NPO in the Overstrand which hosts a 100km, four-day annual walk from Cape Agulhas Lighthouse to Danger Point Lighthouse. The main purpose of this walk is to raise funds for local charities within the Overstrand Municipality. Approximately 100 ladies from across South Africa register to participate in the walk and contribute to this fundraising effort. How does it work? Every year, registered NPO charities in the Overstrand apply for funding for projects. The main beneficiary is then chosen by the registered walkers for the following year.  As always, the decision as to who to vote for was not an easy one for the walkers. Overstrand Hospice, Hermanus has been elected by the 2024 Lighthouse 2 Lighthouse walkers as the beneficiary!! The aim is to raise funds towards the first stage of renovations of their new building.
