Social Workers to Exams Campaign

My name is Julia Ambler and I am a doctor working in paediatric palliative care in Durban - providing support to children with serious illnesses. Our work is complex and difficult and there are simply not enough people trained to do this important work relieving suffering and caring for families that are trying to cope with an ill child. Two of our hospital social workers, Bharita and Khululiwe have been working exceptionally hard this year to achieve their Diploma in Paediatric Palliative Medicine through UCT. It is an expensive course and they have been lucky enough to receive funding to enable them to enroll and get this far. However, they are now at the final push and need to get to Cape Town to write their final exams.
