Jacobs Well Village

The work of Jacobs Well Village NPC falls under the seven spheres of influence:

  1. Community Development
  2. Family Foundations
  3. Education Development
  4. Government partnerships
  5. Economic development
  6. Marketing
  7. Arts and Culture

Jacob's Well Village has been licensed with the Department of Mental Health to care for children with special needs in our daycare centre since 2008. We strive to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Our services to our community include, but are not limited to, our daycare centre, daily transport, health services, counselling and therapy (including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy).

Our commitment to education is reflected in Tzuria Learning Centre (Grade RRR-12) and Little Cubs Early Childhood Development Centre at Jacobs Well. Tzuria is a registered, affordable private school.

In addition to our school, we also offer skills development and training in leadership, entrepreneurship, agriculture and Early Childhood Development.

Jacob's Well also offers 24/7 frail care support to up to 5 people.

Jacob's Well strives to instil values of service and humility, together with the appreciation of the value of human life and creation based on Biblical values across the spectrum of South African cultures.

In April 2019, Jacob's Well Village was awarded the Gauteng Khanyisa Service Excellence Award for the best NGO in Mental Health Care.

We serve the indigent communities of Olievenhoutbosch, Diepsloot, and the informal settlement of Zenex, South Africa. We have a strict no waste program, and food donations are distributed weekly to needy families. Since the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have also absorbed some laid-off staff, providing them with meals and food parcels.

Jacob's Well is compliant with the following registrations:

  1. DSD Dept of Social Development
  2. Dept of Mental Health
  3. Dept of Basic Education Grade 1 - 12
  4. Tshwane Local Government Health Services
  5. Tshwane Local Government Acceptability for Food Preparation
  6. BBBEE Level 1, 135% Procurement
  7. BBBEE Socio-Economic Development Certificate
  8. CIPC Non-Profit Company Registration
  9. CIPC Company (Pty) Ltd Registration
  10. SARS Tax Clearance for good standing
  11. 18A Tax Exemption Certification

To expand our outreach and influence in our community, we need to expand our service offering. At the moment our facilities can only accommodate a small number of children. With the help of donations, we would like to add two more milestone activity centres to our premises.

These centres will serve as play areas for the special needs children and will be wheelchair friendly. Further to the activity centres, we need to ensure the safety of our children. We wish to install electric fencing of 500 metres around our facility.

Currently, we have two busses at our facility, sadly one of our busses needs urgent upgrading to ensure the continued safe travel of our children. Our accounts, Day Care Centre and premises are independently audited by a third party and are available upon request.

We are entirely dependent on the generosity of business partnerships and the benevolence of our supporters.

We thank and appreciate any contribution.
