IVF 61433 Campaign

My husband and I have been married for nearly nine years, yet unfortunately, we haven't been blessed with a baby. The reason? Unexplained infertility. How frustrating!

After attempting to conceive naturally, we opted for the IUI route. Despite multiple failed attempts, we eventually achieved pregnancy. I had dreamed of becoming a mother to at least 3 children for so long as I can remember. Finally, my dream had come true - it was the happiest day of my life.

However, everything came crashing down when I had a miscarriage just one day before my 12-week scan. We were utterly shattered. Why did this happen.

Now, nearly 4 years later, and after several more unsuccessful IUI attempts, we are still without a baby. Regrettably, IVF is financially out of our reach. Therefor, we must persist in our attempts to conceive through IUI, as it remains the only viable option we can afford.

And yes, we have also tried the following:

Stop overthinking and stressing - check

Adopt a healthier lifestyle - check

Adopt a pet - check

And the list goes on...

With experience of cancer scars, multiple surgeries, the loss of an ovary, this journey has been   exceptionally arduous and emotionally draining, It brought me to the point where I contemplated giving up. Being the one facing these challenges has shattered me. It breaks my heart that I am unable to give my husband the child he so dearly desires and yearns for. 

We have arrived at a juncture where IVF seems like our only resource, yet unfortunately, our financial circumstances preclude us from pursuing it. Realistically, we require a minimum of R100,000.00.

Friends and family have encourage me to consider a "GoFundMe" campaign, although I have put it off due to the discomfort of sharing my struggles publicly, I have started to think differently. Why not? If there is compassionate individuals willing to offer assistance, why not accept it.

Should we manage to raise the sufficient funds and my IVF journey proves successful, any remaining funds will be directed towards another couple grappling with similar challenges.
