In the heart of Cape Town's ice rink, there exists a beacon of passion and dedication that has touched the lives of many. Meet Mat, one of the last freestylers in our city, who has not only embraced his love for skating but has selflessly shared his expertise with newcomers and aspiring figure skaters without asking for anything in return.

Mat's commitment to the ice and his generosity in imparting knowledge has enriched our community beyond measure. For years, he has been a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration to those who wish to glide gracefully across the ice. His lessons go beyond technique; they instil confidence, discipline, and a profound sense of camaraderie among everyone he coaches.

Today, we have the chance to give back to Mat in a way that will honour his dedication and ensure his legacy continues. Mat’'s current ice skates, his tools of expression and artistry, have served him well but have now reached the end of their life. As he tirelessly imparts his wisdom on the ice, his equipment is holding him back from fully flourishing.

We are rallying together to raise R20,000 to provide Matthew with a new pair of high-quality ice skates. These skates will not only replace his worn-out pair but also symbolise our gratitude for his boundless contributions to our community.
