Overseas Squash opportunity for Ellena Campaign
Let’s get Ellena to Malaysia and Singapore for the SA Schools International Squash Tour
Ellena has been playing squash since she was five. In Grade R, Sally White would collect the children from the pre-primary school and walk them in a long crocodile to the courts, where they would play with balloons and bats. Since then, Ellena has been hooked. She trains like a demon, is a good sport on court and a supportive team player. This commitment and determination, together with the help of her various coaches, has enabled her to slowly and patiently creep up in the SA rankings over the years.
She has played for KZN in the annual Interprovincial Tournament every year since 2016 at the age of 10, and this year, she was in the winning KZN U19 Team. She has been a South African representative for the past four years, her 2023 ranking being No 5 in U19. Ellena was invited to represent South Africa in the Junior World Championships in Australia earlier this year, but unfortunately the cost and timing of this event made it impossible for her to attend.
She now has this amazing invitation to represent South African Schools Squash at two international tournaments in Malaysia and Singapore respectively, after having fulfilled her Matric exam commitments. No person deserves this opportunity more than Ellena! Over the years she has worked consistently hard at developing her squash.
I’m appealing to friends, family and the squash community at large to make her dreams come true; to give her the opportunity to play squash on an international stage.
