University Student Campaign

My name is Mantji Faith Maponya, a 24-year-old young lady born in Limpopo Ga Skororo and raised in Mpumalanga Bushbuckgridge. I currently reside in Gauteng; Johannesburg. Today I am motivating for funding to complete my Master of Arts in Community-based Counselling at the University of Witwatersrand. For the most part my journey and reasons into this degree have been out of interest and passion to my knowledge but this was not enough for the social change I envisioned creating one day. It was the exposure of disparities throughout my journey that led me to wanting a career that has an element of social change which I believe community psychology offers. I believe that community-based counselling will offer me a more contextual basis and a reflection to a much more critical foundation of how to provide and bring effective change in communities. So, I appeal that you find within this motivation a candidate that you see as teachable, inquisitive about the field, willing to go an extra mile and a future counselling psychologist that you believe and see to be an asset within the wider society. To date I have not received any funding from my numerous applications. This funding would assist me in completion of this masters degree.
