Teach Dream Fund Campaign

Hello, I'm Marcha van Heerden, a 24-year-old pursuing my PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. I'm reaching out to share my journey and to ask for your support in a journey that means the world to me.

 I'm raising funds to continue my education because, despite having both my parents, our family faces significant financial challenges. Eight years ago, my father was diagnosed with Huntington's disease, a devastating condition that has left him medically boarded and unable to work. This diagnosis not only shattered our world but also created a financial burden that we continue to carry to this day.

 My mother, a true hero, has taken on the role of both mother and breadwinner. She tirelessly works to provide for our family, and she bears the weight of my father's medical bills, which, unfortunately, are not covered by most insurance. This leaves us with very limited resources to cover the costs of my education.

 The importance of raising these funds cannot be overstated. It's not just about my personal dream of becoming a teacher; it's about sharing the responsibility with my mother and helping to ease her financial burden. Teaching is my passion, and it's a profession that I believe has the power to change lives. By becoming a teacher, I hope to inspire and educate future generations.

 If we can reach our fundraising target, the impact will be profound. It will allow me to continue my PGCE studies, pursue my passion, and work towards becoming a qualified teacher. Beyond that, it will offer relief to my mother, who has been a constant source of strength and love in our family. Your support will not only empower me but will also provide much-needed assistance to my mother and my father's ongoing medical needs.

The funds raised will be used exclusively for my PGCE program expenses, covering tuition fees, textbooks, and materials essential for my coursework.
