Matla A Bana - A voice against child abuse

WHAT WE DO:

COMFORT PACKS: We donate emergency comfort packs for little girls between 4 and 12. These packs are given to them when they report the crime in a most traumatic time of their lives. It can often take up to 12 hours for the child to give a statement, have a medical examination done and receive the immediate emergency assistance. It contains comfort and emergency goods. We need at least 200 packs per month in each province. The cost of a pack is between R 170 to R 200 per pack.  Karen Zoid helping with comfort packs   KFM/Cape Talk Comfort Packs

CHILD FRIENDLY REPORTING FACILITIES: We create child friendly reporting facilities at SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences units. These facilities are completely child friendly and are also equipped with state-of-the-art recording facilities assisting the police. TRAINING: We have trained more than 6 000 police officers, prosecutors and doctors with specialised skills to be able to assist our child victims.  

SCHOOL PROGRAM: Our Smiley character teaches our children about how to protect themselves and what to look out for. We reach between 10 000 and 15 000 children a year with this project.
