Molo Mhlaba School

As an all-women initiative, Molo Mhlaba was founded by 33-year-old social worker Rethabile Sonibare, her colleague Athambile Masola, and the board members of their NPO, the Thope Foundation. The Thope Foundation provides on-site strengthening of language and literacy skills from Grade R to Grade 4 and after-school academic, life skills, and STEM programming for Grade 5 to Grade 7 girls in Khayelitsha. Molo Mhlaba is a bilingual school (isiXhosa and English) with four staff members that has enrolled 262 learners to date.
