Mitchell's Plain Crisis Forum
The Mitchell's Plain Crisis Forum was established in 2017 after the disapperance and brutal rape and murder of 11 year old Stasha Arends from Tafelsig. The organisation became very well known 2 months later when it's members moved out of their comfort zone in Mitchell's Plain to join hands with the community of Salberau in the search for little Courtney Pieters who's body was found after an extensive nine day search.
In both of these cases, and many others which have followed, the Mitchell's Plain Crisis Forum members has made sure that their presence is felt when the perpetrators of such horrible acts appear in court - and their trademark maroon t-shirts have become a well known sights from local Regional Courts to the Cape High Court. The purpose of "court support" is not just to see that justice is served but also to assist the victims and their families as they are often intimidated by the perpetrators and their supporters.
Although Court Support, Awareness, Councilling and referrals, are a huge aspect of what the Mitchell's Plain Crisis Forum does, the core purpose of the organisation has always been Search & Rescue. The Organisation has a phenomal relationship with SAPS and have recently started assisting the Pink Ladies Organisation on searches when needed.
The organisation has always been reliant on the vehicles of two of it's members but this has recently become a huge challenge as the vehicle's have started giving problems and also those members are not always available. The members realized fully how devastating this can be when the organisation was approached to assist in the search of a missing 10 year old and there was no transport for them to do so. In addition, the lack of transport is also becoming problematic in the sense that the organisation has not been able to grow it's membership, as again, when the call comes, the organisation is not able to accommodate prospective new members.
Our heartfelt request is for any and all donations that would help the Mitchell's Plain Crisis Forum in being able to purchase a reliable 16 seater vehicle (New or used). Your donation could very well be the difference between the life and death of the next woman or child who goes missing.
Thank You in Advance
