Muldersdrift Fire Protection Association
The Muldersdrift Fire Protection Association is a registered body under DWAF made up entirely of volunteers from the community. Established in 2007. The FPA assists members with fire awareness and safety, first aid and fire fighting training. fire preparedness for winter and assists with general fire fighting veld fires, protecting homes, buildings and wild life.
Muldersdrift falls under the WRDM, who only have 3 fire engines to service the entire West Rand and often are not able to assist due to a shortage of vehicles. During these times the Muldersdtift FPA Volunteers jump in and assist, using their own private vehicles and equipment.
Now that the fire brigade services on the West Rand are non functioning due to the WRDM strike and financial collapse, this has left the entire community living in Muldersdrift vulnerable, from a large shopping mall, businesses and complexes to farmers and informal settlements.
The Muldersdrift FPA Exco team are needing to purchase a fire engine as soon as possible and have identified a suitable vehicle available for R250 000. As the association is a registered NPO they are needing to raise funds through donations.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
