Publication of IsiZulu Novels Manuscripts Campaign
1) Introduction
2.1) By way of introduction, my name is Ngcebo Yusuf ka ma Mfusi-Ndlovu, I hereby make a request for and on behalf of my father, Mr Izwi Kenneth Ndlovu, the beneficiary herein.
2) The Importance of Raising the Funds
2.1) I hereby write to ask for your support in the
form of donations in respect of my father’s crowd funding campaign to publish 6
(six) manuscripts which he authored under the following titles:
2.2. I am very confident that once published, my father's manuscripts will make a positive difference in the school's curriculum and would be of benefit to the community since they will be available in various community libraries.
2.1.1) Zesulwa Zagoboza (Drama Book);
2.1.2) Imizila Yolwazi (Poems), co-authored with Thabisile Zola Mthethwa;
2.1.3) Sampheka Ngogozwana (Short Stories);
2.1.4) Phenduka Mhlaba (Novel);
2.1.5) Phela Lokhu Kuyiqiniso (Drama); and
2.1.6) Kwenziwa Njani Uma Sekunjena.
3) The Intended impact should we be able to raise sufficient funds needed for the publishing of the manuscripts:
3.1) Once these manuscripts are published, they will be distributed to schools and will form part of the curriculum. In this way they will benefit the community by preserving the language of IsiZulu and also serve to revive the culture of reading amongst the learners and their respective families.
3.1) I am very confident that my father's manuscripts will make a difference in the school's curriculum and would be of great benefit to the community, since they will be available in various community libraries which will enhance the level of proficiency in the IsiZulu language.
4) The Use of the funds Raised:
4.1) The funds raised will be used to finance the cost of typing, printing and publication of the manuscripts into novel, short stories and drama books.
4.2) To this end, my father attempted to publish the above listed manuscripts at Iziko Art Company, which is based in Durban but did not have the funds to cover the costs associated with fulfilling his dream. In this regard, an invoice from Iziko Publishers dated 3 July 2019 is available upon request.
4.3) The above said, my father has reached out to Reach Publishers for the printing and publication of the manuscripts.
