Arthur Freak Accident Campaign

On Friday, 01.09.2023, it was spring day for all around and it was no different for him, I (his mother) went to work, and his sister went to school and he stayed home. He decided to help out around the house as I, whom is a single mom, works and also travels a distance does not always get around to everything. Arthur decided to start off with washing some dishes. The glass he was busy washing shattered in his hand, cutting right through to the bone, tendons were severed completely.

 

Upon receiving the horrendous call I had to rush from Randburg to Roodepoort to get him to the doctors. Unfortunately, the injury was so severe that the doctor told me to get him to the emergency room immediately. At the emergency room he was stabilized and admitted to hospital for tendon repair surgery, the next morning (Saturday, 02.09.2023).

 

The operation was a huge success, and he was discharged on Sunday 03.09.2023 and had to report to the occupational therapist first thing on Monday morning, for the special splint he would need to keep his finger in place but would also allow him to the exercises to get his finger working properly again. 

 

He is receiving occupational therapy every second week for since the incident and needs to go for the next 6 weeks as well. Unfortunately, with medical aids being hard on their members enforcing co-payments which no one is ever prepared for, we have now been receiving emails and phone calls in regard to short payments the medical aids refuse to pay. 

 

By opening your hearts and your wallets you are not only giving me, his mom, a little bit a space to breath but also ensuring that she can focus all her energy on getting him the best medical attention possible and to settle those short payments.
