Pietermaritzburg Animal Rescue and Rehome
Pietermaritzburg Animal Rescue and Rehome NPO 270-130 (also known as PARR) is a registered non-profit, pro-life animal rescue organization based in Pietermaritzburg. PARR's primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate, sterilize, and rehome stray and abandoned animals in our community. We assist animals in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas. We have over 50 rescue puppies and adult dogs in foster care and boarding kennels per month.
In addition to the rescuing of stray and abandoned animals, we also faciliate an outreach programme which aims at assisting animals in the underprivileged communities and townships through free rabies vaccinations, sponsored sterilizations, and educating owners on the proper care and treatment of their animals. We also assist where we can with dog and cat food, bedding, bowls, second-hand kennels for shelter where necessary, all of which are donated by members of the public who support our cause. We ensure the sterilization of the animals we assist during our outreach programmes which sterilizations require funds. The owners of these animals are extremely grateful for the support and kindness they receive and try their best to care for their animals with the little that they have.
PARR works solely through donations from the public to be able to help these innocent animals; most of which have come from neglected and abused backgrounds.
Our rescue organization is always in need of monetary donations, both puppy and adult dog food, tick and flea medication especially Nexguard, Bravecto and Ectodex dip (which are beneficial for our mange cases as well), dewormers, F10 disinfectant, protexin, blankets, steel bowls, beds, second-hand kennels, collars, leads.
