Amanda Campaign

Good day

We are Renier and Ansie Barnard. Our friend, let's call her "Amanda", got divorced a while ago.  She was married for more than 20 years.  Her ex-husband severely bullied and controlled her emotionally. Some of you will know exacly what that means.

She was coerced/forced to give up her business, with which she was able to generate a sustainable income for herself.  He had her sell her properties to invest into his farm.  Later she was even forbidden to have her own bank account. This was all in the name of "we are together in this", only it turned out that the reason was to control her on every level.

As divorces go, the party with the better lawyer gets the better deal. As she had no income or even a bank account at that stage, she walked out of the divorce into a very bad financial situation.

With the few possessions she was allowed to take, she managed to find a place off-grid with the idea to get as far away from her ex as possible.

Amanda is, however, an iron lady with guts and determination, who wants to rise from the ashes and go forward. 

She has big plans for the future, and also wants to use her own experiences and victories with the trauma she went through to help other women in similar situations.  She plans to establish a retreat for such women to help them overcome and heal from their experiences.

In the meantime she moved to her off-grid "sanctuary" to live in a caravan. She had her possesions stored on the premises in a borrowed tent.  She has already fenced her property, has her water running, started her veggy garden and planted a lot of fruit trees. Phase one done and dusted!

However, on the weekend of 25-26 August 2023 there was a huge storm with severe wind which tore her caravan tent to tatters. The borrowed tent was also torn and collapsed completely.

As a result of not having her own bank account for so many years, she has no credit record, which is necessary to apply for any kind of loan.

We desperately want to help her.  We don't have the necessary funds to cover everything though, so we are asking you for assistance.

Amanda would really like to put up a structure in which she can live and a workshop where she can build her business again. Her estimate comes to about R200000.

Please help us to help Amanda get back on her own feet again, so she can help other women to do the same with the planned retreat. Your contribution may just help change the world for someone you know.
