Redeeming Hope for Disabled
Redeeming Hope for the Disabled (RHD) is a local Non-Profit Organization established in a xenophobic context (May 2008) with the aim of protecting and addressing the special needs of South African citizens including foreign nationals with disabilities.
The project safeguards human rights, promotes non-discriminatory access to social services, provide temporary accommodation and create long term sustainable programmes (Vocational Skills Training) to ensure self-reliance and social integration of the Southern African citizens including refugees and migrants living with disabilities. RHD builds the future of children with disabilities through provision of safe environments for their growth and education support. The project is led by people with disabilities as an effort to contribute ensuring a successful implementation of the policies of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Taking the lead on matters that concern them.
