Rotary Satellite Club of Morningside - Young Professionals of Sandton
360 MILLION PEOPLE LIVE WITH DISABLING HEARING LOSS!
32 million of these are children ( >15)
The majority of cases can be treated through early diagnosis and proven interventions.
Deaf and hearing-impaired children often experience delayed development of speech, language and cognitive skills, which may result in slow learning and other difficulties in school.
World Hearing Day is held on 3 March each year to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world.
With World Hearing day 2019 in mind, the Rotary Young Professionals of Sandton and the Rotary Club of Morningside, in partnership with Oticon South-Africa, Mix 93.8FM, Hi-Hopes Foundation and Sasfin are bringing hearing screening, preventative care and intervention to the schools in our communities.
All money raised will be put towards our efforts to raise awareness around hearing health, Prevention of Hearing Loss, Identification and Management.
