Thol’ulwazi Thol’impilo HIV and AIDS Education
Thol’ulwazi Thol’impilo was founded in 2005 by a group of farmers, all members of the Evangelical Lutheran Congregation Augsburg in the Piet Retief area of Mpumalanga. The initial input was training and education on HIV and to encourage farm dwellers to test for HIV. Due to the inaccessibility of medical care the next step was to implement a mobile Health Service. Presently 5 TTN Mobile Clinics operates in th Mkhondo sub-district, visiting more tha 200 farms on a monthly basis. The running costs of the vehicles as well as the administration and coordination of daily movements of the clinics are all paid for by the NPO. Presently our funds all coming from donations are almost depleted. We see about 5000 patients per month.
