Tygerberg Children’s Choir

Having won countless international choral competitions since its inception in 1972, the Tygerberg Children’s Choir, one of South Africa’s proudest export products, is widely regarded as one of the very best even-voiced children’s choirs in the world today.

The Choir wins the hearts and souls of audiences wherever it goes, and once heard, the vocal magic it brings forth can never be forgotten.

TCC has won major international competitions, a recent highlight being the World Choir Games in Tshwane in 2018. Not only were they crowned World Champions in two categories, i.e. Children’s Choirs and Musica Sacra with Accompaniment, but they also achieved two third places – in the Pop Choirs and Folklore with Accompaniment categories. This gives them a total of four gold medals! An achievement very few choirs could obtain since the inception of the World Choir Games in the year 2000.

It has become increasingly difficult for the Choir to meet its financial obligations and to exist in its present state. The World Choir Games 2020 will be taking place in Flanders, Belgium and it is the sincere wish of the Choir management that funding be obtained in order to provide all the Choir members with a memorable lifetime opportunity, all of which in the end shape and mould these children to be great ambassadors and citizens of our great country.

We would like advise that the choir currently receive no external funding at all. In ensuring success we kindly request assistance from you.Ensuring the success of this endeavour with its aim of building, rebuilding and transforming relationships between people in our community.May your hearts  be filled with the same joy we have for the amazing voices of young children we have been blessed with
