The Full Tummy Fund - A Spur Foundation initiative

The Spur Foundation was established on International Mandela Day, 18 July 2012, with a donation of R670 000 by the Spur Corporation, resonating with the '67 minutes' theme of Mandela Day, and the founding of the Spur family in 1967.

The Foundation recently launched the Full Tummy Fund which will focus on early childhood development and nutrition.

We support a variety of remarkable beneficiaries, all of them doing amazing work within the ECD sector and benefiting thousands of children on a daily basis.  These organisations mainly focus on training ECD practitioners, revamping / upgrading day care centres as well as run nutritional programmes.

You can't teach a hungry child and by investing in these early years we aim to help build a stronger educational foundation on which a healthier, more prosperous and better society can be built.
