Founded in 1999, certified non-profit organisation Umnyama (NPO 012-593) raises human rights awareness among vulnerable communities in the Western Cape, South Africa, by means of workshops, publications, puppet theatre, research, and consulting & mentoring.

PUPPET SHOWS
Umnyama's puppet shows offer a playful introduction to the fundamental rights of the elderly and are conducted by professional actors in Afrikaans, English and isiXhosa.
WORKSHOPS
Since 2007, Umnyama has conducted a workshop on labour rights, the rights of the elderly, and NPO management.
RESEARCH
Umnyama's expertise in human rights has led to requests from SA, overseas and local governments to conduct research on human rights issues.
SANTA SHOEBOX
Driven entirely by volunteers, Umnyama has managed the official Santa Shoebox project for the Paarl and Wellington region since 2014.
