UMTAPO Centre is a social justice non-profit organisation engaged in the promotion of peace, human rights, and ethical leadership, based on the principles of anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-corruption, and community empowerment. It is also registered as a public benefit organisation (PBO).
In its day-to-day work, UMTAPO targets students in disadvantaged schools and universities in five provinces as well as selected rural/semi-rural communties in three provinces: Limpopo, Esatern Cape, and Limpopo.

UMTAPO has partnership programmes with the Universities of Kwazulu Natal, Durban University of Technology, University of Fort Hare, University of Johannesburg, and University of Venda. Internationally, it has had joint programmes with partners in Northern Ireland, Netherlands, and Kenya.
