Hi I’m Wonder Phillip Vuma.
A BCom Economic Sciences academic background with majors in Economics, Econometrics and Statistics@ Stellenbosch University and a BBusSc in Actuarial Science(Inc) at UCT. I’m super excited to be chosen to attend Camp 2030 in New York City, in September 2024. I have always had a passion for Social Impact and Sustainable Development. I hope one day to make noticeable difference to the quality of people’s lives. I’m raising money to help me achieve my goal of attending Camp 2030 in New York.
Why should you fund me?
CAMP 2030 is a global innovation lab for the United Nations - Sustainable Development Goals. Taking place on SEPTEMBER 9 - 14, 2024 NEW YORK, USA. Camp 2030 enables the world’s most passionate and action-oriented young people to create solutions, gain knowledge, the confidence, and the community necessary to help reach the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS. It is not only an Innovation Lab, but a space for young people to come together, build networks, and take action in a real & authentic way.
I have been selected from over 3,000 young leaders around the world who were considered. Unite 2030 has identified me as one of the top 10% of Changemakers from across the world who is taking action for the Global Goals set forward by the United Nations.
At Camp 2030, young Changemakers from all over the world convene at an eight-day camp-style conference to think-tank solutions for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that empowers over 15,000 young leaders to take action to end poverty, inequality, injustice, health & well-being and Climate change by the Year 2030.
We will spend our time co-creating and innovating for our assigned SDGs at a campground in upstate New York. On the final day of Camp 2030, we will return to New York City to pitch our solutions during the UN General Assembly and Global Goals Week.
By attending Camp 2030 and being a representative at the United Nations Global Week, I will be able to enhance my leadership skills, make connections to help further my career and work with like-minded individuals.
I can’t wait to be a part of Camp 2030 and look forward to representing my University, Community, and most importantly young leaders in Africa.
