Christo is only 41 years old and has been fighting for his life for more than three years.
Before his illness, Christo worked as an armed response officer. He loved protecting people and keeping them safe.
It was never just a job to him—it was his passion. Above all, he is a loving husband, father, and family man whose loved ones mean everything to him.
On the night of 30 May 2023, Christo suddenly struggled to breathe and experienced severe chest pain. His wife, Chantel, rushed him to Wentworth Hospital, where doctors gave them the devastating news that he had suffered a heart attack. They were told he urgently needed a triple bypass surgery and he was referred to Albert Luthuli Hospital.
More than three years later, Christo is still waiting.
During this time, he has been in and out of hospital countless times. Every appointment brought hope that the surgery would finally happen, but each time it was delayed.&n...
